Staff Accountant, Payroll

Our total net sales in fiscal 2013 were approximately $22B, which ranks us among the largest privately-held companies in the United States.The Staff Accountant, Payroll will provide the Finance department with accurate payroll postings, supply information as needed and maintain the accuracy of payroll. Reconcile Payroll general ledger accounts Plan and verify accuracy of payroll for year end W2's Work with Finance to verify variances between budget and actual payroll Work with Treasury to fund payroll bank accounts Update employee records for taxable fringe benefit information Assist payroll specialist with tax and accounting questions Tax system update testing and implementation Other ad hoc activity as assigned Make corrections to invalid payroll postings 4 Year College degree in Accounting or related field Knowledge of generally accepted principles,practices and laws related to payroll, taxes and benefits Certified Payroll Professional preferred Experience with Oracle preferred Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel required Microsoft Access preferred Ability to learn new software analytical tools (i.e. Hyperion, E-Search & View, Monarch, Lawson, Query)Working Safely is a Condition of Employment at C&S; - An Affirmative Action Employer M/F/D/V Date: 2014-07-10 Country: US State: VT City: Brattleboro Postal Code: 05301 Category: Finance

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
