The position works independently and collaboratively to implement strategic plans for admissions related activities, including, but not limited to, enrollment and retention under the supervision of the Director of Admissions. The primary focus of this position is proactive student contact and conversion throughout the inquiry, application, and pre-departure processes. The admissions counselor advises prospective students and applicants about admissions policies and procedures and makes admissions decisions.Specific Responsibilities:o Answer student and parent inquiries and provide excellent customer service via telephone and emailo Advise and assist students with program selection, academic fit, admissions process, credit transfer, and sources of fundingo Review complete applications and make admissions decisionso Track enrollment for assigned programso Contribute to the development and implementation of retention strategieso Coordinate and facilitate pre-departure information and preparation, including visa and travel logisticso Produces and analyze reports on admissions activitieso Serve as backup to other admissions counselorso Occasionally represent SIT Study Abroad at study abroad fairs and pre-departure orientations as assignedo Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of AdmissionsRequired Experience:Required Qualifications:o Study Abroad experienceo Strong verbal and written communication skills in Englisho Commitment to student-centered approach with the ability to relate effectively to students, parents, and colleagueso International experience, preferably in an undergraduate study abroad programo Ability to present programs in a professional mannero Demonstrated analytical ability and attention to detailo Good organizational and multi-tasking skillso Demonstrated ability to work as a team playero Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, database utilities and social networkingPreferred Qualifications:o Alumni of SIT Study Abroad or International Honors Program (IHP), preferably with travel experience in Africa, South of the Sahara (East Africa, West Africa, southern Africa)o Proficiency in a foreign language, preferably Frencho Experience in college admissions or study abroad officeo Knowledge of Salesforce (CRM)Required Education:o Bachelor''s degreeAdditional Comments:Please submit resume with cover letter and salary history atSubmission Deadline: Position open until filledClick Here forFMLA General Notice.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
