Responsibilities A 16-hour per week position providing bereavement volunteer and client support.
Reports to the Bereavement Program Coordinator.
Functions Coordinates bereavement support groups, including launching, promoting, supervising volunteer facilitators and directly facilitating groups.
Assists with monthly volunteer support gatherings.
Assists with coordination of public events (ie Memorial Garden Service, Lantern Walk) Program coverage when the Bereavement Program Coordinator is out, including doing intakes.
Assists with planning and facilitating volunteer in-services.
Assists Bereavement Program Coordinator when working with schools, organizations, and businesses seeking grief support.
Maintains electronic and paper forms and filing according to organizational policy.
Qualifications Experience in the area of grief and loss and group activities Supportive and compassionate listening skills Knowledge and acceptance of Hospice philosophy and practice Initiative, creativity, and willingness to work independently yet also commit to being part of a team in the delivery of services Excellent interpersonal, oral, presentation, written, and telephone skills Work with diverse social and economic situations without imposing own values; maintain appropriate professional boundaries Certification or licensing is not required, a background check is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
