Strong negotiating skills are necessary.
The technical sales manager has a successful track record and can inspire the same performance in others.
As technical sales manager you are a leader who has a sharp mind and an ability to coach, advise, motivate, or replace sales representatives while building and maintaining a high-performance team.
Required skills and
Qualifications:
Five or more years of experience in managing sales in a corporate setting Targeting 3 to 8 years of work experience in complex technical sales and solutions which includes a practical understanding of company's products, technologies, markets, customers, and sales Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to closing Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Superb leadership ability Demonstrated ability to work independently, yet collaborate with marketing, R&D, Engineering, and other functions to achieve targets Experience working with different functional representatives (R&D, QA, Purchasing, Production/Manufacturing) within the organization Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities creatively and insightfully from data analysis or from marketing/sales relationships Demonstrated problem solving, project management, and written & verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated detail orientation and commitment to deliver on all assignments in a timely manner Excellent communications, driven with a desire to collaborate with others Travel:
as required to meet with customers and perform essential position duties, estimated at 50% Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific area preferred.
3 to 8 years of relevant work experience in complex technical sales and solutions which includes a practical understanding of company's products, technologies, markets, customers, and sales will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, ability to write reports, business correspondence, ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and the general public.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Strong attention to detail.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of social media utilization, Google software, CRM (SalesForce, Hubspot), Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
