Chief Information Officer Brattleboro Retreat
The Chief Information Officer at the Brattleboro Retreat will be responsible for the overall design, supervision, and protection of the hospital s information systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing and providing strategic direction and leadership for Information Technology Services to the hospital. This includes hands-on project management, supervision of staff, compliance with regulatory bodies, disaster recovery, and oversight of funding initiatives for procuring new software and hardware. A key component of this position will be the candidate s ability to demonstrate excellentperformance management skills in order to build a strong Information Technology team.
Responsibilities include oversight and management of:
Day-to-day Management of the Information Technology Services Department.
Responsible for evaluating hospital-wide needs and proposing technology solutions in conjunction with Senior Management.
Creation and development of a dashboard application for both management and physicians, to be utilized in strategic and operational management of the institution.
Hospital Information Systems (HIS): candidate will be responsible for maintaining the hardware and software utilized by the Brattleboro Retreat s information systems and corporate network.
Management, continued development, and implementation of the Netsmart Avatar Electronic Medical Record System.
Technical Infrastructure: Management of networks, datacenter, external communications lines, and wireless infrastructure.
Telecommunications: includes management of PBX system, telecom lines, phones, cellphones, and pagers.
Monitoring of Federal and State funding initiatives for procuring new software and hardware.
Compliance: Upgrading/updating software and corporate network system in order to maintain CMS, HIPPA, and Joint Commission compliance standards.
Security: Develop policies and procedures for user access, prevent unauthorized user access, and minimize data loss through the development of backup procedures and disaster planning.
Requirements for this position include:
Master s degree preferred, but must have a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant business and computer experience combined with a data processing-related certification.
Five years of experience in supervisory management with at least two years in a healthcare environment.
Project management experience required.
Experience in health care information systems, equipment installation, network management design, and knowledge of programming is desired.
